As we head towards a national lockdown we would like to allay fears or misconceptions that GPs are not or might not see patients.
Since March 143.4 million appointments have been delivered by General Practice across the UK. In September nationally patient appointments increased by 20% from August. Last week The Family Practice provided just over 1000 appointments, of which 42% were face to face.
In September we recognised that getting through on the telephone had become a problem therefore we have increased the number of lines available in the hope this results in a reduced waiting time. Additionally we have reorganised staff rotas to accommodate peaks in telephone demand and we are recruiting a further GP to expand our clinical team.
The Family Practice is continuing to deliver treatment to its patients as it has done since March. Like many we have team members who have to self-isolate or are ill, unfortunately despite our best efforts this can sometimes impact on appointments. We will continue to rise to the challenges that Covid 19 presents so that we can keep looking after our community.
We are here to help you, please help us to keep you safe and thank you for being kind to the team.
