Seasonal Flu Vaccination 2020
The annual flu vaccination provides the best protection against the flu virus, which can cause serious illness and death.
This year we are holding our main clinics at Cotham Church, BS6 6DR. This is to aid social distancing in order to protect both patients and staff members.
Invites will be sent in batches and we have already released the first batch of over 65 invites for Saturday 26th September.
The next large clinic will be for 18-64 year olds in the at risk groups and some more of the over 65s; this will be on Saturday 24th October and invites should go out early next week (w/c 14th September). As invites are computer generated it is not possible to match up family members, therefore please be prepared to attend separately unless it is essential to attend together.
There will be a few 'mop-up' clinics in-between and after these dates, and we will endeavour to vaccinate people ad-hoc as they attend for other appointments.
Eligibility for the flu vaccine can be found here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/flu-influenza-vaccine/
Children’s Flu Vaccination
Our first batch has arrived and we will endeavour to source more each week. We will start sending invites out this week (w/c 7th September) to 2-3 year olds (born between Sept 1st 2016 and August 31st 2018), with new clinics added regularly. All primary school children and those in year 7 will be offered it at school with a 'mop-up' clinic in the community if they miss their appointment. At risk children can be vaccinated here or at school.
Patients Aged 50 – 64
We are awaiting further guidance from NHS England about possible routine vaccination of patients aged between 50 and 64. We understand this is under review currently and we expect to hear more in November.
