Nicola McGuinness
Gender: Female
Primary qualifications: MBBS BSc (1996) MRCGP DRCOG DCH
Special interests: Women's health
I undertook my medical training at The Royal Free Hospital in London where I did an extra year to do a degree in psychology in health. After completing my postgraduate training in the Southwest, I moved to Bristol in 2001 and became a GP partner at The Family Practice in 2002.
I have a particular interest in women's health but enjoy the diversity of general practice and family medicine. I am a GP trainer - involved in training qualified doctors to become GPs. I find this a very satisfying role. At present, I am the managing partner which involves working with our team to keep the surgery running smoothly and focusing on future plans for our practice.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking and tennis. I am married with 2 children and am kept busy by their active lives.
